Sonys Already in First Place PDF E-mail

I know what you’re thinking how is Sony in the best position right now? Well, yes, Sony is in third place, but in all honesty who really counts the Wii as a next-gen console? So Sony is in last place, they’ve sold less than the Xbox 360 and the Wii yet in my opinion their still the competitor to beat. For instance, Microsoft is leading the PS3 in console sales despite the fact that most of those sales are probably the poor shmucks that had their console RROD on them three times in a row and just went out and bought a new one(myself included) instead of giving the PS3 a go. Also there’s the little fact that whoever is in first becomes lazy. Don’t believe me name 5 great exclusives that the Xbox 360 has had released this year. Yeah, I know you can’t. Now with Sony being in last they’ve had to push innovation and triple A titles like no other and they certainly have delivered this year. No one would have a problem naming five great PS3 exclusives that launched this year. Agreed? With next year looking even bigger with titles like Heavy Rain, God Of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, MAG, Final Fantasy Versus, Mod Nation Racers and titles that are yet to be announced but you know their coming anyway, I’m talking about you Resistance 3 and Killzone 3. The PS3 has never felt fresher, and with only a couple of notable titles coming to the Xbox 360 Microsoft is going to find itself in some very hot water.

Even PSN seems to be catching up to Xbox Live. It’s certainly more appealing seeing how it’s free, and with things like cross game voice chat possibly coming in a later firmware update Sony is closing in on the competion. Unless Microsoft has an ace up its sleeve there’s no possible way it can win next year. But in all honesty do really want Sony to be in first place? Sure, in my opinion they deserve it, but maybe being in last place has given them more of a competitive edge. It’s quite possible that these great games would still be just as good, but I believe being in last place has made a positive impact on Sony’s overall growth as company. They’ve never had to deal with being in last place, and as long as their paying attention they will walk away from this Generation wiser.

I’m almost completely confident that Sony will take the crown this gen, but what I believe will be the most fun to watch is how well they do with the next generation, and I can almost guarantee one thing for sure Sony has learned a great deal from watching Microsoft’s big mistakes this gen.

Whatever happens I’ll remain a proud PS3 owner and yes they’ll always be games on the other console that I wish I could play, but the fact remains that Sony is always the one to beat and in every other generation they’ve never been bested.
