{tab=Overview} Shank is a 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up developed by Klei Entertainment. It features melee and ranged combat. It was announced at Penny Arcade Expo 2009. The game was released on the 24th August 2010 for PlayStation Network, 25th August 2010 for Xbox Live Arcade and is scheduled to be released on the PC on October 26th 2010 {tab=Review (360)} Shank is a 2D beat 'em up on the xbox live arcade. You play as Shank, a buff guy who has no problems with decapitating your balls, then shooting you in the face. His girl friend has been taken, and heavily suggested, raped by some dickhead wrestler. So you decide to go kill him.

The game plays just as any good beat 'em up should. You run to the right, you slice, and shoot people, you move on. The game controls are amazing in this game. very well mapped, and everything feels natural.

The game looks great, the colours pop very well off the screen, but also don't seem out of place. The blood is in between out there, and only kind of out there, but you will see lots of it. The animation is also very well done.

The audio is solid, the music builds the mood, and the sound effects do their jobs to make you think you are actually hitting/shooting/slicing someone or something. The voice acting is also very good and not over done at all.

In conclusion this is a very well made beat 'em up. I can't find any flaws in the design, or the audio. I would highly recommend this game to a beat 'em up fan. Just a heads up to all you parents, this game should be kept from the kiddies.
