{tab=Story} Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage is a 3D action game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 developed by Omega Force and published by Koei. It is a spin-off of the Warriors series based on the manga franchise Fist of the North Star by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara. It was first released in Japan on March 25, 2010, and is scheduled to be released in North America in November 2, 2010 and in Europe on November 5th. {tab=Review (PS3)} If you want a very fast paced fighting game, then this is not the one you are looking for. I find the fighting aspect to be extremely slow. I may be biased in that i have been playing Lords of Shadow which has a very fast paced fighting mechanic.

I know that these two are different fighting games but Fists is still too slow. However, once one gets used to it, the fighting does improve to a certain degree. The fighting also improves a bit more once you level your various moves.

You are allowed to do various upgrades to your characters which does add another element to the game. You do not need to use it but some people love to do everything they can to improve their characters. You do have long list of moves which can be further developed. You also have special moves that can also be used which does break up the pace of the game.

As the story goes, it does it pretty decent job at following the story from the manga/anime series. One does not really need worry if they have not see the manga/anime series, it does not really have much of a story to begin with anyway. However to combat this, the game does allow you to play as 3 separate characters. All 3 have their own relative story, which makes the game just a bit more likable in the story department.

The game has graphics that are all across the board. The intro to the game can easily hold its own against other games which are famous for good cutscenes and intros. I serious was not expecting such a great intro to the game when i was waiting for the game to load. The cutscenes are pretty good themselves. The area that i find the graphics lacking is during gameplay. Killing enemies is very bloody task but it is not pretty.

The various normal enemy finishers are very ugly, i really do not like watching them. However, one can easily tell that the developers main focus was put into the special techniques. I totally love watching the small animation that takes place whenever i use a special. It is cool to see the special rip the user shirt off which shows that he is using a very powerful special. This is the exactly what happens withing the manga/anime series, which makes me happy that some aspects were kept.

The game does a pretty good job at allowing players to enter the world of "Fist of the North Star." However, i think that it might not be suitable for everyone. The game is definitely worth a purchase for fans of the series. Though others should try the demo before they decide to buy the game.
