{tab=Info} Virtua Tennis 4 (Sega Professional Tennis: Power Smash 4 in Japan) is the third sequel to Sega's tennis game franchise, Virtua Tennis. It was released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii, but it has also upcoming release PlayStation Vita. Virtua Tennis 4 is the first numbered game of the series without an arcade release. {tab=Review (PS3)} Does Virtua Tennis 4 perform better than its predecessors or does it simply follow them without any improvements?

I like the fact that you are able to fully customize your playable tennis player. You have quite a few options to make your character look however you want. Yes, the character customization does not offer more customization like many other games in other genres but this game easily has one of the best for sports games.

The graphics are mind-blowing. The characters and environments look extremely realistic. I would even go as far as to say that if someone walked in on you playing the game, they may mistake the game for an actual TV broadcast of a tennis match.

The controls are solid and I have no issues with them. This game does not really require you to use many of the buttons but using the same buttons does not feel repetitive at all. You have the option to either use a normal controller or the PS Move controller. I was only able to use the normal controller; I could not get to PS Move controller to work. I left the game and even reset my PS3; the Move still did not work. The thing is that the Move worked in the XML menu and everything else.

There is a learning curve to the game. It will take you quite some time to master the controls and when you move your character. It will take some time to master when to move and I do not think I will be able to learn it anytime soon.

If you are a sports fan, then I would suggest this game without question. Even if you are not someone who plays sports games, I think this game is a good one to allow you to experience the sports genre without any major hassle.
